Pakistan Gets New Launch Date For 5G

In telecommunications, 5G is the fifth-generation technology standard for broadband cellular networks, which cellular phone companies began deploying worldwide in 2019, and is the planned successor to the 4G networks which provide connectivity to most current cellphones. 5G networks are predicted to have more than 1.7 billion subscribers and account for 25% of the worldwide mobile technology market by 2025, according to the GSM Association and Statista.

The launch of 5G technology has again been delayed in Pakistan. The first date of deploying the 5 G is near December of this year but now we are accepting it in 2023. After March 2023, it was delayed to June, but now we should expect it in July 2023, says IT and Telecommunications Minister Syed Amin ul Haq. On Thursday, Minister of IT and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haque addressed an event held by Zong4G to demonstrate the network’s excellence during recent times and to honor those who have made significant contributions towards fulfilling this agenda.

“Our IT industry has already witnessed robust growth. As compared to the other 43 ministries of Pakistan, the highest increase in exports has been registered by the IT and telecommunication sectors. The exports of other ministries increased by 2 to 3% only over the last couple of years while the exports of IT and telecom jumped by 47.44% during the same period. It reflects the potential which we need to capitalize on.”

In addition to that, he revealed that the education sector combined with IT companies can meet the IT future jobs and boost IT graduates’ careers. The government is also facilitating IT startups with huge funding rounds of around $373 million.

A number of countries around the globe are still facing lots of issues with stable 5G technology, and countries like the UK   still facing the poor phase of 5G connection in a number of areas. and it remains to be seen how the next generation of mobile networks performs in Pakistan. We also recommend taking the July launch date with a grain of salt.
