Cirkus is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez, T-Series and Reliance Entertainment. The film stars Ranveer Singh in a dual role alongside Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez and Varun Sharma. It is officially adapted from Angoor (1982) which was based on Shakespeare’s play The Comedy of Errors. It also features Deepika Padukone and Ajay Devgn in special appearances.

Principal photography commenced on 17 November 2020 in Mumbai. It has been described as a period comedy set in the 1960s. The film was initially scheduled to release theatrically on 31 December 2021 but due to shooting delays, it was postponed to release theatrically on 23 December 2022.

He captioned the post, “It’s time to bring our audience back to the cinemas… ONCE AGAIN!” Shetty added, “Golmaal released 16 years ago and the love you all gave me made me what I am today!” “’Cirkus’ is a christmas gift for you and your family!” the director shared. “Kyunki iss ‘Cirkus’ mein bohot sara Golmaal hai!!!”

The 83-year-old actor will play two roles in the film, with Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde playing the major heroines.

Ranveer also shared the movie poster on Instagram with the message, “Let’s bring the house down this Christmas!!!!!!” #CirkusThisChristmas”

Varun Sharma, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Siddhartha Jadhav, Vrajesh Hirjee, Vijay Patkar, Sulbha Arya, Mukesh Tiwari, Anil Charanjeett, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Murli Sharma are featured in the cast.

‘Cirkus’ will hit the theatres on December 2022
