Eastern Eye’s 50 influential personalities include several Pakistani actors

Multiple Pakistani Celebrities Make It To The List Of Top 50 Asian Celebrities. Sajal Ali has gained the highest position among her Pakistani celebrity cohort.

UK-based publication Eastern Eye released the latest edition of its 50 Asian Celebrities in the World list which features celebrities based on the impact they have made on the media industry. According to the British agency, actress Sajjal Ali and other Pakistani celebrities have been included in the list of top 50 Asian celebrities of the world for 2021.

Sajal, ranking seventh, is the only Pakistani national in the top 10, having surpassed global stars, including some from Hollywood, the music industry, television, literature, and social media, as her performances in several recent dramas and a web series her in the spotlight. “It is a great honor for me to be included in the top 10. The challenges Covid-19 brought with itself continued in 2021, but this did not deter me from working hard,” Sajal said of the honor. “In fact, 2021 was one of my busiest years with two films and two dramas back-to-back. As we are inching closer to 2022, I would like to take this moment to reiterate my commitment towards my craft and would like to assure my fans around the world there are more exciting projects to witness in 2022.”

A full list of influential showbiz personalities from Eastern Eye will be released on December 10 which includes several Pakistani actors and singers. According to the newspaper, Indian actor Prabhas is at the first position in the list of ’50 most influential showbiz personalities of Asia’ while British actor of Pakistani origin Riz Ahmed is at the second position. Third on the list is Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra.

In the list, Pakistani actress Sajal Aly is in the top ten while Hadiqa Kayani is at 30th position. Among the influential showbiz personalities, singer Atif Aslam is at 25th position while Yumna Zaidi is at 35th position and Bilal Abbas is at 39th position.  

“The prolific actress has gone from being the crown princess of Pakistani entertainment to the undisputed queen. Her work on web, TV, film, and the music video space in 2021 backs that up,” Asjad said.

The British newspaper’s list also includes Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan who is ranked 32nd and is the oldest person on the list. British Pakistani Riz Ahmed ranked second for his path-breaking work in Hollywood, which included becoming the first Muslim to get an Oscar nomination for Best Actor, starring in big budget film Encounter and speaking up against Islamophobia.

Apart from Pakistan and India, the list also includes showbiz personalities from other countries including United Kingdom, Singapore, Bangladesh, Thailand and Indonesia. Pakistani-American actor Kamil Nanjiani is sixth on the list.
