Parkour is a physical discipline that involves moving through an environment in a smooth and efficient manner, using techniques such as running, jumping, climbing, and vaulting. It is often performed in urban settings, where practitioners, known as traceurs, use the environment to their advantage, navigating around and over obstacles in creative and physically demanding ways. The goal of parkour is to move through the environment as quickly and efficiently as possible, using one’s body and surroundings to overcome obstacles. It is often considered a form of self-expression, as well as a way to improve physical fitness, coordination, and agility. Parkour has gained popularity in recent years and has inspired the creation of various parkour-based activities, such as freerunning and obstacle course racing.
