Young Activist From Swat Wins Global Citizen Award for Women’s Rights Advocacy

22- time-old activist Hadiqa Bashir from Swat has been recognized with the prestigious Global Citizen Youth Leader award for her inexhaustible Swat in backing women’s rights and combating underage marriages in her region. A native of Saidu Sharif in Swat, Hadiqa has become the first Pakistani to admit this esteemed award, adding another remarkable corner to her formerly outstanding career as an advocate for gender equivalency and education.

As the author of ‘ Girls United for Human Rights, ’ Bashir has devoted herself to empowering women and girls in the Swat Valley, fastening particularly on eradicating the dangerous practice of underage marriages.
