Toyota is Among Top 10 Worst Performing Companies Against Climate Change

Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Toyota City, Aichi, Japan. It was founded by Kiichiro Toyoda and incorporated on August 28, 1937. Toyota is one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world, producing about 10 million vehicles per year. The company was originally founded as a spinoff of Toyota Industries, a machine maker started by Sakichi Toyoda, Kiichiro’s father. Both companies are now part of the Toyota Group, one of the largest conglomerates in the world. While still a department of Toyota Industries, the company developed its first product, the Type A engine in 1934 and its first passenger car in 1936, the Toyota AA.

According to recent survey reports Toyota was awarded as the most value-added company, Toyota won this title for 3rd time in the same year after beating several major players in the market. But on the other hand, Toyota also comes in the top 10 auto companies that behave very badly against clamin change in the region and do not follow the climate policy of 2022. The company has come in at the 10th spot on the list which is filled with major oil marketing companies (OMCs). It is also the only automaker to be included in the top 10.

Above mentioned  information was acquired from InfluenceMap — a company that “provides data and analysis on how business and finance are affecting the climate crisis.”  InfluenceMap conducted a search on how companies are doing production and other operational tasks and how they follow the roles and regulations of climate policy 2022. The company not only gives awareness but also suggests developing climate-friendly policies.

Toyota has also announced it to move its auto technology fully to the electric vehicle before the end of 2023.  Its executives continue to insist that people do not want EVs and that Toyota makes up the environmental protection efforts by producing hybrid cars in big numbers.

Additionally, Toyota has also received very negative comments from automotive analysts and climate activists for its late decisions about EVs. Toyota Company consider revisiting its EV production business policy as it’s on a very slow production pitch and very expensive compared with other EV  production companies. A number of automotive experts reveal that Toyota will out the EV game if they stick to the same EV production policy.
