Saba Qamar, Humayun Saeed, among several others hope PM Imran gets to complete his tenure
As uncertainty looms with the no-confidence motion session inching closer, celebrities are flocking to Twitter in support of Prime Minister Khan, while Islamabad hosts a rally after the PM urged citizens to reach its Parade Ground for a “historic” show of power amid mounting political tensions.
Ahead of the no-confidence vote submitted by the opposition, at least fifty PTI ministers also went ‘missing’ from the political front. Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid, albeit, maintained that the ruling party would not resort to extra-constitutional measures to sway the results of the motion of no-trust. Now, several including Saba Qamar, Humayun Saeed, Rohail Hyatt, Shaan Shahid and Samina Peerza have penned their thoughts on the current situation and backed the skipper, along with the rest of Twitter.
Actor Saba Qamar has tweeted, “This is not about one person, this is about Pakistan. May Allah (SWT) bless our Prime Minister Imran Khan with success. Ameen.”
Humayun Saeed has written, “I have been a fan of Imran Khan since he was a sportsman and am still an admirer of his leadership. I wish and pray that he completes his tenure. May Allah bless him.”
Shaan Shahid, who has made it abundantly clear numerous times that he stands with the skipper, once again tweeted, “I stand with Imran Khan. Pakistan has spoken they want only one leader to lead them to a brighter future. They have shown solidarity with Imran Khan. You can keep your parliament but you can never take away our leader.”
He even commented on Saeed’s tweet to praise him for standing with the ‘truth’. “Well done brother, standing with the truth is the only way for Pakistan,” he shared.
Veteran actor and host Samina Peerzada remarked, “Apnay Kaptaan ko Allah ki amaan mai diya.“
While composer Rohail Hyatt, who was recently awarded the Hilal e Imtiaz, called the ongoing rallying support for Khan an ‘awakening’. He tweeted, “What an awakening. Wow. Almost everyone I know in my village is either going or supporting IK’s call. This could be the defining moment. The opposition has done the impossible. They have awakened the conscience of this nation.”
The hashtag #BehindYouSkipper is also trending on the micro-blogging site as several discuss the impact Khan’s governance has had on the country. “It’s not Imran Khan vs opposition at this point. It’s Pakistan vs corrupt political dynasties,” a user asserted.
