Kinza Hashmi, Mawra Hocane laud team Pakistan’s remarkable comeback against India
The action-packed match kept everyone at the edge of their seats. Twitterati, specifically, had a field day as many shared their thoughts throughout the match. The likes of Asim Azhar, Nabeel Qureshi, Shaan Shahid joined other tweeps and lauded Pakistan over the blazing win.
Azhar shared, “What a game of cricket by our young team. Brilliant comeback by our bowlers after India got off to a flyer. And what a chase by Rizwan, Nawaz and co. Chasing 180+ is always a challenge in such a high-pressure game no matter what the pitch is like. Pakistan Zindabad!”
The Habibi singer, in another tweet, shared, “This is the new era of Pakistan Cricket. Highest successful run chase against India in T20s. Fearless and calculated! That’s why it’s said, ‘Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.’ Do not be disrespectful but enjoy the victory!”
Lauding Waseem Akram for his brilliant responses in the commentator’s box, filmmaker Nabeel Qureshi shared, “We won! What a game! Brilliant, brilliant by Rizwan, Nawaz and Asif Ali in the end too! And Wasim Akram Bhai, your commentary, in the end, was superb. You responded sternly to your fellow commentators.” The Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad director then shared several tweets from Pakistani cricketers.
Humayun Saeed penned, “What a chase! What a match! Well done Pakistan team especially Mohammad Rizwan and Nawaz for your glorious performances. Outstanding! Pakistan Zindabad!”
Adnan Siddiqui added on, “Congratulations, felicitations, Pakistan! Perfect nail-biting finish. Rizwan and Nawaz – fire and ice of the team, you guys deftly and powerfully carried the match on their tough shoulders. Atta boys!”
Ushna Shah tweeted, “What a beautiful team we have! Love our boys in green. Rizwan bro, you King! Mashallah. What a match. Well played, India.”
Armeena Rana Khan commented how cricket should be seen for what it is: a sport. “Repeat after me: Cricket is not equivalent to winning wars, it is just a GAME/SPORT so please take it as such. Disclaimer: I don’t condone wars nor violence.”
Hasan Raheem, like many of us, went through the same turmoil of unsettling emotions and penned, “What a team. Captain Babar Azam changing the batting order is as sweet as it can get.”
Kubra Khan congratulated team Pakistan and tweeted, “My legs were literally shivering but Mohammad Rizwan, what a bloody champ you are! Pakistan team… take a bow. You are absolute gems. Pakistan Zindabad! *Goes back to dancing around*”
Fakhre Alam, who was present at the Dubai Cricket Stadium, while sharing a video in which Dil Dil Pakistan blasted the speakers after Pakistan won the match, wrote, “What a fantastic game of cricket. It doesn’t get better than this. Pakistan vs India and what a game. Only in Dubai can you see this crowd mix and what a performance by the boys in green. Love you, team Pakistan.”
