It’s official! Alia and Ranbir have welcomed a baby girl

The celebrity couple was spotted arriving at Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai on Sunday morning for the delivery, Pinkvilla reported.

News of the couple welcoming their first child has also been confirmed on Alia’s Instagram. A post uploaded on the photo-sharing app moments ago reads, “And in the best news of our lives: Our baby is here and what a magical girl she is. We are officially bursting with love. Blessed and obsessed parents! Love, love, love, Alia and Ranbir.”

Alia’s father and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt had expressed joy over welcoming his first grandchild ahead of the delivery. “Waiting for a new sun to rise. A fresh sparkling dew drop of life,” he had told ETimes. Alia had announced her pregnancy back in June, taking the world by surprise. “Our baby ….. coming soon,” she had captioned her post featuring a sonogram. It was just months after Ranbir and Alia got married.

The two recently hosted a baby shower for which Alia’s sister Shaheen Bhatt, Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor, his sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, cousin Karisma Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor’s wife, Neila Devi arrived at their Vastu home in the Pali Hill area of Mumbai. Vastu is the same place where the two tied the nuptial knot this year.

On the work front, the couple have had a successful year with Gangubai Kathiawadi sealing Alia’s well-deserved reputation as a talented actor and Brahmastra reviving Ranbir’s flagging career graph.
