IPC Minister unaware of plans to remove Ramiz Raja as PCB Chairman

The newly elected Inter-Provincial Coordinator (IPC) Minister Ehsan ur Rehman Mazari has claimed that he is unaware of any plans to sack Ramiz Raja as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman.

After receiving his first briefing from the secretary on Saturday, Ehsan ur Rehman expressed that there has been no formal ruling regarding Ramiz’s future and he could not provide any confirmation regarding news being circulated in the media.

“I have no idea about the claims circulating that the government has planned to sack Ramiz from the chairmanship,” Ehsan ur Rehman remarked.

He further stated that he himself was informed about Ramiz Raja’s removal as PCB chairman from the media.

“I only found out about Ramiz’s removal from the PCB chairmanship through the media,” he further added.

Adding to the conversation, Ehsan commented on the revival of the departmental cricket and said that “all sports departments will be restored.”

The concept of departmental cricket was abolished under Imran Khan’s leadership, a move that has been heavily criticized by ex-players, coaches, and upcoming stars looking for a stage to perform on.
