First pictures from the sets of ‘Selahaddin Eyyubi’ series unveiled

In addition to that, there are so many shops and quarters of Muslim and Christian communities of that time along with that glorious mosque is also part of Sat.

Almost professionals designer along with construction engineers took four months to design the whole site in detail. The good news is that mosque built for this play will also remain operational after the production is done. The massive production drama has a similarly huge cast and crew, much of which was present at the set launch.

The Pakistani producer, Kashif Ansari from Ansari and Shah Films, told Arab News that 16 Muslim and non-Muslim historians have worked on the script for 10 months to ensure the story depicts the truth. “Islam’s true image, that the West is not ready to depict, will be presented in the series,” he assured. “There is no counter-narrative to how Muslims are otherwise represented in foreign productions.”

“Today I have very important news to deliver — let me delve into the past for you to understand better. Around three, three and a half years ago, Kashif Ansari called me from the US and extended an offer, asking me to join him in visiting Ertugrul’s set and shrine. Without a moment’s hesitation, I accepted. There began talks that led to us considering a production together. That wasn’t possible due to a teething problem but as a result, we are on our way to doing a very big project together.”
