ALL OF US ARE DEAD

All of Us Are Dead follows a group of students from Hyosan High School fighting to survive after a zombie virus spreads across the school and its surrounding areas. The series is based on Joo Donggeun’s digital comic on Webtoon called Now at Our School (same as the series’ original title in Korean), which was first published in 2009.  The series centers mainly around Nam Onjo, played by 18-year-old Park Jihu, and her childhood friend, neighbor, and classmate Lee Cheongsan, played by 20-year-old Yoon Chanyoung. Cho Yihyun also stars as model student and class president Choi Namra, while South Korean-Uzbek actor Park Solomon (also known as Lomon) plays Lee Suhyeok.

SWEET HOME

Cha Hyun-Su  is a high school student. He is also a recluse and rarely leaves his room. He refuses to talk to his father, mother and younger sister. One day, his whole family, except for him, dies in a car accident. Cha Hyun-Su is left all alone. He moves into a small apartment. At this time, a mysterious phenomenon of humans turning into monster occur all around the world. The residents of Cha Hyun-Su’s apartment building, including Pyeon Sang-Wook  fight against these monsters and try to survive.

Based on the Naver webtoon of the same name by Kim Carnby and Hwang Young-chan, which recorded over 2.1 billion net views, the series was released on Netflix on December 18, 2020.

THE CURSED

The main story of The Cursed is about a teenage girl who has the ability to bring death by using names, photos and belongings, and a just social issues reporter, fighting against the massive evil hidden behind an IT conglomerate.

Im Jin-Hee is a gung ho reporter, out to do the ring thing. She covers a violent case involving Forest, the biggest IT company in South Korea. The chairman of Forest is Jin Jong-Hyun . He relies heavily on shamanism. During her investigation, Im Jin-Hee learns of a spiritual consulting company that is affiliated with Forest. The head of that affiliate company is Jin Kyung . While trying to reveal the secret behind Forest, Im Jin-Hee meets So-Jin . She is possessed by a spirit and she has a special ability.

HAPPINESS

Happiness starring Han Hyo-joo, Park Hyung-sik, and Jo Woo-jin, produced by Studio Dragon. It is an apocalyptic thriller that takes place in a time in which infectious diseases have become the new norm. Set in the near future, a high-rise apartment building has been newly constructed in the big city. The apartment building has residents from diverse backgrounds, but a new infectious disease breaks out. Because of the outbreak, the high-rise apartment is sealed off. The residents struggle to survive, while stricken with fear and distrust of others.

HELLBOUND

This series was directed by Yeon Sang-ho, based on his own webtoon of the same name. An original Netflix release about supernatural beings appearing out of nowhere to condemn people to Hell, the series stars Yoo Ah-in, Kim Hyun-joo, Park Jeong-min, Won Jin-ah and Yang Ik-june.

A story about otherworldly beings who appear out of nowhere to issue a decree and condemn individuals to hell. These supernatural events cause great mayhem and enable the religious group The New Truth to grow in influence. A few people, however, become suspicious about its activities and begin investigating its involvement in mysterious events.

THE GUEST

Yoon Hwa Pyung, a young psychic born into a shaman family, learns about the powerful demon called “Son” (Guest). The demon has the power to control other demons and allows them to possess weak people. The possessed people then go mad, kill their families, and stab themselves in the eye. Fatefully, Hwa Pyung, Choi Yoon; a young boy born in a religious Catholic family, and Kang Kil Yeong; the daughter of a detective, meet when their families are killed by a demon. Twenty years later, the demon killings started again. Hwa Pyung is now a taxi driver who uses his power to seek out possessed people in order to help them, while Yoon is a Catholic priest who is talented in exorcism, and Kil Yeong is a detective who doesn’t believe in ghosts. The trio meets again and tries to work together to defeat “Son”.

KINGDOM

The series was positively reviewed, and renewed for a second season which was released on March 13, 2020. A special feature-length episode of the series, titled “Ashin of the North”, was released on July 23, 2021, presenting a focus on the supporting character played by Jun Ji-hyun. The episode acts as a sidequel to the second season of Kingdom and explores the backstory of Ashin, the mysterious character Lee Chang’s group encountered on their journey north to discover the origins of the infected.

No sooner does the Joseon King succumb to smallpox, do the rumors of his death begin. The Cho Clan, the clan of the pregnant Queen and her father, Chief State Councillor Cho Hak Joo, declares the Crown Prince a traitor. Questioning the circumstances surrounding the King’s death, the Crown Prince and his guard, Moo Young, set forth to locate Lee Seung Hui, the last physician to treat his father. Oh Soo-Min  is a dutiful young Catholic priest, filled with energy. He is a member 643 Regia. The group performs exorcisms unofficially. In the past, his own mother was possessed by a devil. She could not receive an exorcism and she consequently died. After that, Oh Soo-Min was taught by Priest Moon Ki-Sun  on how to perform exorcisms. Moon Ki-Sun is the person who formed 643 Regia.

Meanwhile, Ham Eun-Ho  became a doctor after her family went through an unfortunate accident. She wants to save the lives of people. Now, Ham Eun-Ho works in the emergency room of a hospital. Ham Eun-Ho does not believe in God, but she witnesses a supernatural phenomenon and meets Priest Oh Soo-Min. She faces a big change in her life.
